The 44th Annual Golden Aspen Motorcycle Rally was held in Ruidoso over the weekend ( Sept 18-22) and beautiful fall weather made for great riding, and successful events. Saturday morning, the parade through Midtown Ruidoso, saw several thousand motorcycles ride the route, as onlookers lined the streets to view the bikes.
The trades how, held at the Inn of the Mountain Gods, was well attended. Events there included a wide variety of merchandise, including gear, clothing, jewelry, art, equipment, food, and motorcycles.
The Parade video, shown below, was shot near Sudderth and Mechem Dr. on Saturday morning. The photo gallery of still shots, was taken in and around the trade show, at the Inn of the Mountain Gods Casino. Photos and video by Mark Stambaugh.
The rains around Ruidoso have been enormous this September, and the Rio Ruidoso is running big. If you have not visited the Ruidoso River Trail, you’re missing a simple but scenic pleasure in town. The River trail parking area is located just behind the Chamber of Commerce at 720 Sudderth Dr. The trail is paved and runs about a mile, with more trail to be added, later, by the Village.
It is a great opportunity for a tranquil walk, or jog and dogs are allowed, with leash. Photographers will find plenty of material along the “noisy river”.
