If you have yet to visit the walking trail that runs along side the Rio Ruidoso, you’re missing a scenic attraction, right near the center of town. The trail starts at Two Rivers Park, located on the east side of the Chamber of Commerce Building at 720 Sudderth. The paved trail heads west for about one and a quarter miles, and ends, however there are plans being made to extend it further west towards Midtown Ruidoso in the future.
The trail has picnic tables along the way, along with several information boards that explain wildlife, fires, and animals in the area. A covered pavilion is near the trail as well, and it makes a great location for family or group outings. You might also step over to the Ruidoso Chamber of Commerce, while parked at the trail head, and check out other activities, and points of interest.
I recently walked the trail on Sunday morning, and shot this 30 second video of the “noisy” river, the Rio Ruidoso. With the recent rains in the area, the river was rolling….
