The Ranches of Sonterra is one of several premier acreage and residential developments near Ruidoso and Alto New Mexico. Previously a 5000 acre working cattle ranch, the land was aquired in 1994 by Bluegreen Corporation, a developer of upscale land offerings in the Southwest. The Sonterra project consisted of 496 individual tracts, each containing at least 5 acres of land.
